ONRSR will soon begin a period of public consultation as it prepares to finalise a review of the drug and alcohol provisions within Rail Safety National Law.
All rail safety stakeholders are welcome to provide their input and the policy recommendations from the review will be submitted to the Transport and Infrastructure Council for consideration at its November 2017 meeting.
The public consultation period will commence when the consultation draft is made available on Monday, 24 July, and conclude at close of business on Friday, 18 August.
To provide every opportunity for discussion and analysis of this important legislative review, ONRSR will be holding face-to-face consultation sessions around Australia throughout the consultation period.
Sessions will be held in the following cities on the dates below – please mark them in your diary. Further information on how to register will be available when the paper is issued.
A review of drug and alcohol provisions under Rail Safety National Law by the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator was agreed by the Transport and Infrastructure Council in 2012.
