ONRSR in NSW and the ACT

9 March 2017

The Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR) will officially transition to a direct delivery model in NSW on 10 March 2017, following the termination of the Service Level Agreement that has been in place with the Independent Transport Safety Regulator (ITSR) since January 2013. ITSR will be formally wound up by the end of March.

All ITSR staff other than the CEO will transfer to ONRSR and it will be business as usual for all operators dealing with our Sydney office, with the same staff and contact details.

Please also note that commencing on 10 March, rail safety regulation in the ACT will transfer to the NSW Branch. This was previously handled by our Central Branch in Adelaide.
