Safe railways for Australia

Surrender

A rail infrastructure manager (RIM) may apply to the Regulator to surrender their registration of a private siding. In order to surrender a registration the rail infrastructure manager must inform the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR) with written notice of the intention to surrender and provide the ONRSR with details as to the arrangements proposed in relation to the cessation of rail operations.

Rail infrastructure managers seeking to surrender their registration are advised to contact the ONRSR early in the process to clarify the requirements.

For all enquiries relating to surrenders of registration, please contact operations@onrsr.com.au or phone 08 8406 1500.
