COVID-19 border information - train drivers & rail safety workers

In these uncertain times of COVID-19, to assist the rail industry, ONRSR has established a single location for rail transport operators in relation to crossing borders, and moving around certain local government areas- particularly in the wake of the recent outbreaks of the COVID-19 Delta Strain.

ONRSR is not the decision maker, nor do we regulate COVID related emergency management directions and regulations, however our website attempts to provide a single-entry point into state and territory COVID-19 information.

While ONRSR has made every effort to ensure the links and information provided are correct, rail operators and rail safety workers must ensure they review state and territory government websites for their relevant up to date restrictions and/or legal responsibilities in relation to COVID-19.

Train drivers and rail safety workers are reminded to follow relevant health protocols while travelling into any state. These are:

  • practice social distancing where possible
  • keep a list of close contacts
  • carry and use correct PPE
  • follow your COVID-19 safe plan.
