About the opportunity

Working closely with the Senior Manager Governance and Risk, Executive Leadership Team and governance committees, you will provide expert governance advice, lead key governance frameworks and oversee Freedom of Information (FOI) processes across multiple Australian jurisdictions.

About you - your impact and contribution

Reporting to the Senior Manager Governance and Risk, you will play a key role in strengthening ONRSR's governance frameworks and ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory obligations across all Australian jurisdictions.

You will lead governance committee operations, provide expert secretariat services, oversee Freedom of Information processes and partner with stakeholders across the organisation to develop governance policies, improve compliance frameworks and embed best practice governance.

Your work will directly contribute to organisational transparency, accountability and continuous improvement while supporting Executive Leadership and Board Committees in making informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, coordination and administration of ONRSR's governance committees, including committee secretariat responsibilities
  • Prepare agendas, board papers, reports, minutes and follow-up actions for key governance committees
  • Maintain governance frameworks, statutory registers, delegations, charters and legislative compliance registers
  • Manage ONRSR's Freedom of Information (FOI) processes across multiple Australian jurisdictions
  • Develop and maintain governance, policy and FOI frameworks that align with legislative requirements and organisational objectives
  • Lead the review and continuous improvement of corporate policies, procedures and governance standards
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, ensuring governance frameworks remain current and compliant
  • Provide expert governance and risk advice to executives, leaders and internal stakeholders
  • Promote governance awareness, integrity and accountability across the organisation
  • Partner with the Governance and Risk team to support internal audit, ethics and risk management initiatives

Skills & Experience

  • Proven success in a governance, corporate compliance or company secretariat role within a complex or multi-jurisdictional environment
  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance frameworks, legislative obligations and regulatory compliance across Australian jurisdictions
  • Proven experience coordinating board or governance committee secretariat functions
  • Experience managing Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and legislative compliance processes
  • A curious and resourceful approach to sourcing information for all FOI requests, and strong time management and project management skills to effectively manage competing priorities
  • Highly developed written communication skills with experience preparing board papers, reports and governance documentation
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across executive, board and external stakeholder groups
  • Strong organisational and project management capabilities with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgement, discretion and confidentiality
  • Experience using governance systems, electronic document management systems and SharePoint
  • A strong governance background and tertiary qualifications in Law, Governance, Public Administration or a related discipline are preferred.
