ONRSR has developed resources to assist road managers in meeting their responsibilities for level crossing safety under the Rail Safety National Law.

The NLXP held national level crossing occurrence and characteristic data is accessed through an authenticated website, it is not publicly available data. Local government road managers can register for access by contacting ONRSR via the support@nlxp.com.au email.
To register your organisation, you will need to provide ONRSR with a nominated NLXP Key Contact, who will be responsible for authorising access for individual users on behalf of your organisation. Further information on accessing the NLXP is presented in the NLXP User Guide, which is available on the NLXP website.
Don’t Risk the Rails was launched in August 2026 by the National Level Crossing Safety Committee. The campaign highlights known risks at level crossings, using simple messaging and relatable characters to raise awareness about the need for road users to take extra care around level crossings. A range of campaign resources are available for local councils and other organisations to use.
